Geotextiles for civil engineering
Geo textiles are used as a separating layer between the soil and the new backfill.
The raw material composition of ge-textiles Ge-Dren® and Ge-tex® are polypropylene or polyester fibers interconnected by a mechanical or chemical process.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Geo textiles prevent mixing of materials and increase the strength of the substrate and shorten the construction time.
DRAINAGE SYSTEMS
Geo textiles can collect and drain water into a more permeable layer or drainage pipe, thus ensuring good water flow. Such drainage prevents capillary rise of water in the material.
CONSTRUCTION OF TUNNELS
With the use of Geo textiles, unwanted water is drained to the drainage bottom and thus, together with the waterproofing tapes, prevents the access of water. At the same time, it also protects the waterproofing membrane from mechanical damage.
LANDFILLS
In landfills, geo textiles act as a separating part between the mineral sealing layer of the foundation layer and as a protection of waterproofing tapes against damage, and as a filter between the waste and drainage layer. It is made of a good type of synthetic fibers that have special mechanical and chemical resistances.
GEOTEXTILES FOR PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
Use of Drefon® geotextiles
In all cases where a separation and filtration function is required, in the construction and renovation of roads and railways, tunnels, various foundations, drainage systems, airports, car parks, sports fields, erosion control, artificial lakes, canals, solid and liquid landfills waste.
Advantages offered by non-woven geotextile Drefon® S :
• in solving problems with mixing materials,
• as a filter for cases where soil composition subject to erosion must be maintained,
• for protective surfaces exposed to mechanical damage,
• to arrange large drainage systems.
Drefon® S differs from other non-woven geotextiles in that it offers:
• high resistance to mechanical damage at lower density / grammage,
• long-term protection of waterproofing systems, due to the use of high quality polypropylene fibers
• UV resistance, as this saves on the time of covering the goetextile and avoids the fragmentation of work processes,
• even distribution of geotextile fibers, thanks to the carding process due to which there are no “weak spots” in the fabric,
• higher hydraulic permeability and higher drainage capacity,
The main properties of the rolls can be adjusted :
– From 1m to up to 6.7m width (saving time and money less overlap).
– The grammage, from 70 to over 2000 g/m2
– Special treatment on the material (needle-punched, also thermo-fixed through calandering)
– Our geotextiles have TDS
